The new event is the senior project of Fah Lamaichampa, a senior at Chimacum High School. "The main purpose of this run is to raise some money for the Feed the Children organization," Lamaichampa told the Leader. "The secondary goal of this project is to raise awareness about fitness." "I had always thought that running was easy," said Lamaichampa, who emigrated from Thailand four years ago and became a naturalized U.S. citizen this summer. Lamaichampa thanks the businesses that have stepped up to support the effort with such things as water, oranges and other items.
